Ashok Vatika
Ashok Vatika is perhaps the most emotional chapter in the Ramayana, as it was the place where Mata Sita was held captive by Ravana after her abduction. Located in Lanka, Ashok Vatika was a beautiful garden filled with trees, flowers, and streams, but for Sita it became a prison where she endured separation from Shri Ram.
Despite being alone, surrounded by demons and constantly pressured by Ravana, Mata Sita remained steadfast in her faith, purity, and devotion. She spent her days praying under the Ashoka tree, refusing Ravana’s advances and waiting patiently for Shri Ram to rescue her. Ashok Vatika thus symbolizes courage, sacrifice, patience, and the unshakable power of devotion.
At Ramayan Vatika, Bareilly, Ashok Vatika has been recreated with sacred trees, floral art, and symbolic sculptures to remind visitors of Mata Sita’s strength and purity. It is a place where visitors can reflect on endurance, faith, and the victory of good over evil.
