Pampa Sarovar

Pampa Sarovar is one of the most sacred and beautiful places described in the Ramayana. Situated near Kishkindha in present-day Karnataka, this serene lake is remembered as the place where Lord Shri Ram met Hanuman for the very first time. That meeting changed the course of the Ramayana, for it was here that Ram found his most devoted follower and trusted warrior.

According to legend, Pampa Sarovar was also the place where the sage Matanga Rishi lived and where Shabari, his devoted disciple, awaited the arrival of Shri Ram. It was here that the famous episode of Shabari offering berries (ber) to Ram took place, symbolizing pure devotion and unconditional love.

At Ramayan Vatika, Bareilly, the Pampa Sarovar section has been created with tranquil water features, symbolic sculptures, and lush greenery to remind visitors of this divine meeting place. It is a space of serenity, devotion, and new beginnings — just as it was for Shri Ram in the Ramayana.
